Current Series - Going Somewhere

Ask anyone who has lived for a period of time and they will tell you life is cyclical.  Many days feel like a treadmill, where we walk and walk and walk, and at the end of the day we step off the treadmill exhausted only to realize that we have gone nowhere.  The reality is while most people change jobs, location, even receive cosmetic makeovers… few feel like they ever go anywhere significant… or leave the world impacted as a result of their life.

One of the amazing messages of the bible is that God is in the business of permanent eternal change, to not just impact the world, but to impact all eternity.  Incredibly the call of God is not to find a bunch of religious people who want to hold hands, obey rules, dress like pilgrims, and sing kumbaya.  God calls his followers to be people who GO, who walk with him, fearlessly and faithfully, and as a result impact all of infinity.  Over the next 10 weeks at Emergence we will look at the life of Abraham.  Abraham was a man who refused to live from the sideline, who risked safety, security, and ultimately his own life… and followed God.  Abraham heard the call of God, went somewhere, and changed the world.

Join us this summer at Emergence as we ask, are we willing to follow the call of God, and risk fearlessly and faithfully and follow Jesus and his command to be people who GO…
